SCG (Substrate Channel Grid material)

All horizontal exterior surfaces are subject to moisture penetration. This moisture needs a way to escape. Otherwise, it sits trapped until until it eventually evaporates. This repetitive process, over years will deteriorate the infrastructure of any surface, especially in freeze/thaw zones.

So, to prevent this occurrence, we recommend the use of a Substrate Channel Grid material (SCG) over the slab surface under the mud setting bed. This system allows any penetrating moisture to run off or "daylight" to the perimeter, insuring the integrity of your structure. Another significant benefit of using SCG is that it will alleviate the telescoping of minor slab cracks up and through your surface material.

Our SCG comes in rolls 4' wide by 50' long (200) sq ft. and can ship on the same truck with our tile.
